OT assessments

A calm starting point for understanding what may help.

Assessments can help when routines feel difficult, a family wants clarity, or a team needs practical next steps. We begin with your questions, your child’s strengths, and the activities that matter.

What an assessment may involve

We begin with your questions, your child’s strengths, and meaningful activities. We look at participation and what may make daily life more manageable.

An assessment is not a pass-or-fail test.

Assessment is not always the first step.

Existing reports may already provide useful information, so you do not need to repeat the whole story. Start with what you have, and we can talk through whether assessment, therapy, consultation, or another option would be most useful.

Looking at the whole picture

An assessment looks beyond one skill or concern. Depending on your questions, we may consider:

  • Regulation and sensory experiences
  • Movement, coordination, and hand skills
  • Daily routines and independence
  • Feeding and mealtime participation
  • Play and social participation
  • School participation
  • Family routines and environments

What happens after you reach out

We listen, talk through the options, and help you identify a useful next step.

Related support

These areas often overlap, and support can be shaped around more than one part of everyday life.

  • OT therapy and treatment Individual OT support for participation, regulation, daily activities, and routines.
  • Consultation, coaching and family support Support for parents, caregivers, educators, and teams involved in a child’s daily life.

Start with what is happening now.

Describe the routine, activity, or question that brought you here. You do not need to know the clinical term. We can talk through a useful next step together.
